(November 30, 2009) – The Jacksonville Regional Chamber of Commerce honored The Grimes Companies (TGC) with the “International Business Leader of the Year – Small Company” award at the Chamber’s November 24 Cornerstone Luncheon. The award recognizes The Grimes Companies’ dedication to the growth of the region’s logistics industry and its strength in international logistics.
"We are proud to be recognized for our aggressive efforts to expand the area's logistics capabilities and capacity," said Grimes President Michael O'Leary. "We’ve taken some bold steps recently," he noted, "including the addition of in-house Customs Brokerage and Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier (NVOCC) services."
"Even as we look to 2010 for growth, superior service and client satisfaction must remain the core of all we do," O'Leary adds.
The Grimes Companies has expanded its transportation division into the Grimes Supply Chain Services division, significantly enlarging its global supply chain capability. Grimes also offers an integrated selection of warehousing, transportation and packaging.
The Chamber also presented Rayonier with International Business Leader of the Year – Large Company, and Chief of Commercial Services Roy Schleicher, JAXPORT, with International Business Leader of the Year – Individual.
